⏱ 30 min read · 🃏 flashcards · 📝 8-question quiz

SMO means shaping your profiles and content so each platform's algorithm — and its people — want to spread your message. Every platform has its own culture. Post the same thing everywhere and you will grow nowhere.

Platform-by-platform playbook

Profile optimization (do this today)

  • Same profile photo, handle and brand colours everywhere — recognisability is branding.
  • Keyword-rich bio that says who you help and how, plus one clear link (your site or a link-in-bio page).
  • Pin your best piece of content to the top of each profile.

The content engine

Work smarter with the 1 → 10 rule: create one strong "pillar" piece (a blog post or YouTube video), then cut it into 10 platform-native pieces — a Reel, a LinkedIn carousel, an X thread, quote images, Stories. Batch-create weekly, schedule with a tool, and spend saved time replying to comments — engagement in the first hour tells the algorithm to push your post further.

Key takeaway: Optimize profiles for search, adapt content to each platform's culture, and turn one pillar into many pieces. Consistency beats intensity.
