Supplier price review pack

Turn two supplier CSV snapshots into a traceable review you can save. Exact SKU matching, explicit exceptions and no store connection.

Earlier snapshot

Paste text or choose a file.

Replacement snapshot

Paste text or choose a file.

Headers: sku, price or sku, price, name. Exact case-sensitive SKUs; same currency and price basis. Up to 5,000 rows per snapshot.

Local temporary inputs only. Downloads contain your supplied prices and identifiers. Editing clears stale results.

Review a supplier price update before changing your records

Use this tool when you have an earlier price list and a replacement list from the same supplier. It matches exact SKU text, identifies price changes and separates items that appear in only one snapshot. Save the resulting HTML review to read or print, and the JSON audit data if you need to pass the comparison into another process. Neither download is an import file for an inventory or accounting system.

Prepare the two snapshots

Export or copy each list as comma-separated UTF-8 text. Use the exact header sku, price, or sku, price, name if you want item names included. Other headers and column orders are rejected so that a cost column cannot silently be mistaken for a selling-price column. If your export uses other column names, create a two- or three-column copy first and verify which price it contains.

SKUs are case-sensitive and remain text: 00123 and 123 are different items. Leading or trailing whitespace in a SKU is rejected rather than silently removed. Duplicate SKUs in either list stop the comparison because it would be unsafe to choose one row automatically. Names help a reader recognise items but are never used for matching. A name change with the same price is labelled separately.

Read the example

The earlier list has SKU 00123 at 10.00, B-2 at 4.50 and OLD at 8.00. The replacement list has 00123 at 12.00, B-2 at 4.00 and NEW at 3.25. The review shows one increase of 2.00 (20%), one decrease of 0.50 (11.11%), one added SKU and one missing SKU. A missing SKU means absent from this supplied list; it does not establish that the supplier discontinued it.

Prices, units and currency

Use plain nonnegative decimals with up to six decimal places and prices no larger than 1,000,000,000. Currency symbols, thousands separators, scientific notation, negative values and blank prices are rejected. Prices are compared using exact millionth-unit integers; percentage changes are rounded to two decimals for display. When the earlier price is zero, percentage change is unavailable rather than infinite. Absolute differences retain up to six decimals.

Enter one three-letter currency label for both snapshots, such as USD or INR. This is a label you supply, not currency detection or conversion. Check that the two lists use the same currency, pack size, unit, tax treatment and price basis before comparing. The tool cannot infer those facts, match renamed SKUs or calculate purchase spend without quantities. It does not recommend prices, approve changes or update any system.

Save and use the review

The on-page table contains the complete comparison, including unchanged items. The HTML download contains the summary, row numbers and complete table, so a colleague can trace a change back to each snapshot. JSON retains supplied SKU, price and name strings alongside the calculated status. File import keeps embedded line endings until you edit the text; typing or pasting into a textarea normalizes line endings. Review the original files and destination import rules separately before making a real update. Downloads contain your supplied commercial information; share them only with the intended recipient.

Limits and temporary inputs

Each snapshot accepts up to 5,000 rows, 1,000,000 characters and a 4 MiB file. Comma-separated UTF-8 files may include a byte-order mark and quoted names with commas or line breaks. XLSX, PDF, semicolon-delimited files and password-protected files are not supported. A header-only snapshot is allowed to represent an empty catalog, but both snapshots cannot be empty.

Inputs and results remain in this page’s memory. The tool has no account, store connection, upload, saved history or remote calculation. Editing a field invalidates the previous result and downloads. Clear or reload removes the page state; files you deliberately download remain on your device. Browser extensions and hosting infrastructure are outside the tool’s control.

Reference: Zoho Inventory’s item import guidance explains how matching a unique field can overwrite records. Confirm your own destination’s behavior rather than importing this review as an update.
